In November 2009, in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi opened a new hotel. The Desert Resort is located 240 km south of Abu Dhabi in the Rub al Khali desert, near the Liwa oasis, just a few kilometers from the border with Saudi Arabia. We have visited the resort in December. qasralsarab.anantara.com
The ride on the now paved road is absolutely no problem. The last 5 km can be described as a beautiful scenic route.
The hotel fits perfectly into the dunes. The name Qasr al Sarab translated means "palace of Fata Morgana". This also fits well with the area. Inside and outside also reminds all of the Arab culture. The architecture is very traditional in the Arab world in style. We managed the builders to integrate the most modern 5-star comfort in this style.
