Dubai a metro The slant

Today on 09.09.09 at 9am in the evening, the Dubai Metro , the first in the Gulf region opened. In about four years (49 months) 30 000 workers have used 9 billion Swiss francs, and thus a 52 km created long metro line which runs over a length of 5 km underground. Along the first Metro line (a second is already under construction) are 29 stations including 4 under the floor. The ride on the driverless trains for the whole route takes about 1 hour It will run at up to 110 mph.

I rarely come to Dubai (for the pictures) I had seen these images of the local newspaper.

So the Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai looked before the start of construction of

the same road today with the Metro line

Here are some pictures of the construction phase. The tunnel boring is yes for Swiss nothing spectacular, but for the Gulf region already.
